Becoming friends with daryl on harvest moon ds?

I have become friends with him before. I went in his basement and met Leia. I gave her gifts since I want to marry her. So I come back the next day and our (Daryl & I) relationship is at zero!!! Every day I come back and try to rebuild it! But the day I come back it's at zero again. Can anyone help me out? I really want to marry Leia.
