Is it weird to not really know someone on Facebook but try to make friends? And if so, what would I say?

So I'm bored today so I thought since I'm out of school I could see if I can call someone to chill with. But I don't have a lot of friends, and the majority of friends I do have are girls. I'm a guy, and I'm not gay, it's just coincidental that my friends are girls because there isn't too many people to talk to in my high school with 130 people in it. But I do have like 110 facebook friends, with about some of them from a different school. I'm not too good at talking to guys, I find talking to girls easier because they seem more sophisticated and calmer than guys. But I want to get away from that right now, so I wanna talk to one of the guys on my facebook friends list that I havn't talked to in a while. But I don't even know how he'll react, or if he thinks I'm creepy or something like that. My fear is that he'll think I'm creepy because I don't know him too well and I'm asking to meet him like a friend. Not a friend, but definitely not an enemy. He's obviously can't be an enemy if he confirmed me on facebook. So my question is: Is it weird to invite him over? And if it's not, how should I ask? (I'm really bad at starting a conversation, so I wouldn't know how to ask). HELP!
