What is jetset fabric made of? And does anyone else think it is a major pain!?

I stayed up for 18 1/2 hours straight working on princess leia's stupid senatorial costume, and still didnt get it done. it is made from white jet set to be movie accurate, but man is that stuff a ****** to work with!!!! it is hard to trace a pattern onto it bcuz of the texture, so i just pinned it so i could cut around it, which i think works better with most things anyway, but that fabric wrinkles and bunches rly bad, and the dress it large, so it took a lot of pins. and when u sew it, the fabric "crawls." has anyone else had trouble with this type of fabric and what is it made of? i think its common on fancy dresses, but rly idk.
